MELASMA

Melasma is a medical condition of the skin with increased patches of pigmentation primarily on the face, white it can occur in both genders, 90% of cases occur in women. Melasma  can be triggered by sun, hormone therapy, or pregnancy, in which case it is called chloasma. Melasma is not harmful condition, but it can have dramatic effect on one’s appearance.

Melasma appears as a brown or tan patch of discoloration occurring on the cheeks, forehead, upper lip or around the mouth, melasma most frequently occurs on the face, although it can also occur on other sun – exposed areas of the body.
